Best friends Jackie and Tyler set out on an adventure to find somewhere to call home, hoping to escape the violent city life and settle down in a quiet place where they can make something of themselves. I can confidently say that I've read enough bad boy/biker books to be considered an expert on the subject.  So, an author has to do something pretty unique and original to win me over.  Does Emma Kendrick have what it takes??

Jackie and Tyler seem to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, which leads them to live a sort of gypsy lifestyle.  The loyalty that they have for one another is admirable; and Jackie's no nonsense attitude immediately caught my attention.

Strays is a different, and almost refreshing, biker novel.  The focus was geared more toward the actual relationships within the Red Kings Motorcycle Club, rather than, the outside forces threatening them.  I really enjoyed being able to develop a relationship with the characters without constant fighting and slutty cheating scandals.     

Emma Kendrick definitely has what it takes, and has gotten herself another loyal fan, anxiously awaiting the release of her next story.  If you love bad boy bikers, as much as I, pick up a copy of Strays....it won't disappoint!

Helloooooo everyone!! Long time no read, amiright? Sorry about that. I've just moved from overseas and am now slowly settling back into America! But today I am going to do a fairly long review, so I hope that makes up for it!
   Silence is about a 16 year old girl named Oakley who was sexually abused growing up and has been completely silent since she was five. She only really trusts three people in her life, one of which is her best friend Cole. Cole is Oakley's best friend that is only two years older than her. He is  a very sweet and dynamic character, who cares for Oakley and loves her, and she reciprocates those feelings. You'd think it would be hard for them to communicate but Cole understands almost everything she is trying to convey. They've been best friends for their whole life, and as they get older their feelings for one another grow. The only man she really wants to be with is Cole, he and her have such an immense love for one another and it warmed my heart throughout the book. Cole and Oakley switch POVs throughout the book, although it's mostly Oakley that is narrating. I love that about this book because it shows Cole's side of the story, which is very interesting.  Nobody really KNOWS why Oakley is silent except her dad, who, by the way, is a complete ass. He walks around keeping the secret about what happened to Oakley and not to mention he is the reason she is silent. Ugh, I hate the  guy. How he says he loves her? I don't know. As for the mom she has no clue what happened to Oakley, she just thinks it's something medical. Nonetheless, she tries to help Oakley and make her better, which is kinda annoying but what could you expect from a mom? Oakley also has a brother who comes off as a lazy sarcastic asshole(my personal favorite)  but really he's a sweetheart trying to protect his sister. I enjoyed this book so much because it was unique and the love between Cole and Oakley is so real and it deals with situations that, believe it or not, happen all the time. It's realistic and fun and just...ugh... I loved it. The only complaint I have is the grammar, which was awful, but other than that it was fantastically written.
  Soooo I highly recommend this book to everyone, it's amazing.
